ABOUT
Desh Bhagat Pandit Chetan Dev Government College of Education also known as Government College of Education is situated on Chahal Road near Government Brijendra College and opposite to Government Balbir School in city Faridkot of Punjab state of India. It is one of four government colleges of education run by Directorate of Public Instructions, Government of Punjab. The current campus is built on 3.75 Acers and College Campus is spread over around 21 Acers of land.
Establishment
It was established by Sardar Bhadur Harinder Singh Maharaja Faridkot in 1945 to meet the requirements of trained teachers in the state of Punjab.
COURSES
The college has one undergraduate and one postgraduate course of teacher education i.e. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) & Master of Education (M.Ed). Each of these courses is of two years duration. Both courses are being run under the affiliation of Punjabi University, Patiala.
Two more course's are being run under the affiliation of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala i.e. certificate Course in Creative Writing & Content Development and Certificate Program in Office Automation & E-governance.
LABs
College has Computer Lab, Technology Lab, Science Lab, and Psychology Lab.
LIBRARY
College has a library by name of Bhai Veer Singh Kitabghar. It has around 17,507 books, journals, and Reference Material covering various subjects.
HOSTEL
College has a Hostel for girls with hostel mess facility as well.
